HOW I DESCRIBE MY PROFESSIONAL SELF
I’m a human-focused designer and thinker who loves a good meaty product problem. I'm a big advocate for discovery-first processes, particularly understanding users and what they need out of a product. Happy to work in the chaos, cheer-leading good experience principles to every part of a business, that's where the mad/keen fits in.
----------
What I can bring
End-to-end design skills – from concept/user research to shipping MLPs and everything in-between
Endless energy for improvement wherever possible – if we can make it better, I will always want to give it a crack.
User advocate – needs/wants/feels, accessibility supporter, empathiser
Stakeholder translator – interpreting user needs to business goals
Student of life – iterative learner, trying more than failing, practical optimist
What I love doing
- Solving problems with the end user always front and centre
- Presenting concepts at any fidelity or stage; not precious but will back my decisions
- Working across the whole product design process: ideas, validation, design, testing, iteration, shipping, measuring
- Asking smart questions, collaborating on better answers
Current toolbox
Miro/Mural for thinking, noodling, and collaborating
ChatGPT/Claude for ideation, helping me articulate and prototyping
Figma for high fidelity mockups and design systems
Hotjar + Pendo for seeing how users are actually interacting with the product
DevOps/Jira as I do work with engineers and that is what they live in
